Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply whenever you visit Lafayette County Criminal History, read its material, or use a search feature. Continuing to use the website means that you accept every condition below. If you disagree with any part of these terms, discontinue your visit and do not use the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no affiliation with a local, Missouri, or federal government body. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The material helps readers locate Lafayette County and Missouri criminal-record resources. We are neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, independently operated and unaffiliated with government. It does not store official records, perform official checks, retrieve files, or submit documents for a visitor.

Its content identifies the custodians of Lafayette County criminal records, including the sheriff, courts of the 15th Judicial Circuit, Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, and Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect visitors with independent search tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the website, you agree not to:

  • Use automated scrapers, bots, or similar collection tools against the pages
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass a person with information found here
  • Interfere with site performance or another visitor's access
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any system or account
  • Use this content for a credit, employment, housing, or insurance decision
  • Violate any applicable local, Missouri, or federal law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use this website or a linked tool to stalk, intimidate, threaten, harass, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. The rule is especially important for Missouri Sex Offender Registry information. Missouri law bars use of registry information to facilitate a crime. Registry data supports lawful public-safety awareness, not vigilantism, retaliation, or prohibited discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. Our advertising partners do not offer linked services for FCRA-regulated decisions. You agree not to use this website or a linked tool to:

  • Set insurance eligibility, rates, or terms
  • Make a hiring, firing, or other employment decision
  • Determine creditworthiness or lending terms
  • Evaluate a rental or other housing application
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other purpose regulated by the FCRA

A check for a regulated purpose must come from an authorized official channel or a provider that complies with the FCRA and all other applicable law.

5. No Legal Advice

The website provides general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Lafayette County charge, conviction, warrant, disclosure rule, or Missouri expungement statute applies to a particular person. Seek advice from a licensed Missouri attorney for that analysis.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are provided "as is." We make no promise that:

  • An independent search provider's results are accurate or complete
  • Every page is free from bugs, mistakes, or security flaws
  • The information will always be complete, current, or correct
  • Access will remain continuous and uninterrupted

Charges, dispositions, closures, and expungements can change a record. Delays and omissions are possible. No statement here should be treated as an official certification from the Lafayette County Sheriff, Circuit Clerk, Missouri State Highway Patrol, or another government office.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to sheriff, court, Missouri agency, legal-resource, or independent search websites. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their accuracy, availability, prices, content, or data practices. Review the destination's own terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Lafayette County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or used to create derivative material without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the website, reliance on its content, or use of a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, and legal actions caused by your use of the website or violation of these terms, including reasonable legal fees and related expenses.

11. Governing Law

Missouri law governs these terms. A dispute arising from use of the website must be brought in a court located in Missouri. The Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610 RSMo, governs public access to government records, and RSMo 43.506 addresses reporting to the state's criminal-history repository; neither makes this private website an official custodian.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revision becomes effective when the new text is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or terminated at any time, for any reason, and without prior notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected provision will be limited only as far as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions concerning these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
